Imagine how much our relationships could deepen if we truly viewed each person in our lives as a blessing. Now, before you give yourself credit and say, “I already do,” let me gently ask: Do they know that? Have you told them they are a blessing to you?

Communication is a key ingredient in any healthy relationship. If we’re not actively expressing our appreciation, then there’s room for growth. We shouldn’t assume our family and friends know how much they matter—let’s be intentional about reminding them, often and sincerely.

But what about those we struggle to see as blessings? Sometimes, our own expectations get in the way. We focus on flaws rather than strengths, trying to “fix” what actually makes someone uniquely themselves.

Here’s the truth: we can’t change people—but we can change the way we think about them.

Romans 15:7 encourages us: “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”

When we cultivate gratitude for the people in our lives—even the difficult ones—we strengthen not only our connection with them, but also our relationship with God.

It’s a win-win.
